General Security Measures
  • Do not handle unclaimed suspicious substance, Inform police about suspicious objects.

  • Organized an Anchal based Assistance Camp

    February 21, 2020

    Today on 21.02.20, Egra Police Station organized an Anchal based Assistance Camp at Panchrol Gram Panchayat, where the Anchal officer SI S. Pal interacted with the village dwellers to redress their grievances.
    Junput Coastal PS also organized a Police Assistance Camp today within Nayaput Gram Panchayat to converse with the villagers and resolve their issues.
    These two initiatives were warmly embraced and appreciated by the local people of both the PSs.

  • Seized fire crackers

    October 2, 2019

    Last night one source information was received that at Chingurmari under Mahisadal PS, fire crackers in huge quantity are being manufactured illegally.

    On being tipped off, today, Shri Tanmoy Mukherjee, SDPO Haldia hold a raid and seized 4020 kgs of fire crackers raw materials.

    The seizure include black powder, mixture of Charcoal and Sulphur, Potassium Nitrate, cellulose nitrate etc.

    Further 04 persons have been arrested in this regard and a specific case has been registered at Mahisadal PS.

    In pursuance to above the case has ended in conviction as Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge 3rd Court , Tamluk , Purba Medinipur  has been pleased to convict the following accused person in C/W the case and  pass the following judgment interalia as follows:-

    Offence U/S- 341/323/324/302/506/34 IPC

    Convict  namely 1)Sk Ramjan S/O – Late Sk Nura of Vill – Jhikuria, PS – Panskura, Dist – Purba Medinipur sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and shall also pay Rs.20,000/- i.d to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 6 months for his conviction u/s- 302 of IPC and to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 1 months  and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 500/- i.d to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 10 days  for his  conviction u/s- 341 IPC(.) All the sentences will run together(.)

    Offence U/S- 302/307/325/447/506/34 IPC

    Convict  namely 1)Sibani Giri w/o- Sudhangshu Giri 2) Himangshu Giri s/o- Lt Amullya Giri 3) Mamata Giri w/o- Himangshu Giri 4) Sambhu Charan Giri s/o- Lt Amullya Giri all of Vill – Narghat, P.S. – Chandipur,  Dist Purba Medinipur were  sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and shall also pay Rs.20,000/- i.d to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 6 months for their  conviction u/s- 302/34 of IPC , to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 5 yrs and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- i.d to suffer for 1 month for conviction u/s- 307/34 IPC, to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 3 yrs and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 1000/- i.d to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 01 month for conviction u/s- 325/34 IPC, to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 01 yr and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 500/- i.d to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 1 month for conviction u/s- 447/34 IPC and to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 1 yr and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 500/- i.d to suffer Rigorous Imprisonment for 1 month. All the sentences will run together.

    On 18/07/2019, Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge 3rd Court, Tamluk, Purba Medinipur, has been pleased to convict the accused person named-
    Sk Abdul Mabud @ Bhola,S/o- Sk Murshed Ali,Vill- Chapbasan,PS- Tamluk
    Dist- Purba Medinipur. The convicted person was sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life under Section 302 of IPC and shall also pay a fine of Rs 20,000/- i.d. to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 06 months; and to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 3 Years under Section 201 of IPC and shall also pay a fine of Rs 5000/- i.d. to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 02 months; and to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 03 Years under Section 411 of IPC and shall also pay a fine of Rs 1000/- i.d to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 01 month.

    In pursuance to above the case has ended in conviction as Ld. Addl. District & Sessions Judge Fast Track 2nd Court , Tamluk , Purba Medinipur was pleased to pronounce rigorous imprisonment for life on the accused persons namely 1)Santanu Roy @ Babu S/o – Lt. Nikhil Roy of Vill – Rajnagar, P.S. – Nandakumar, Dist Purba Medinipur and to pay fine of Rs-5000/- (Rs Five Thousand).

    It was further ordered that on default to pay the fine, he has to suffer further rigorous imprisonment for a period of Six months, for the offence punishable U/S- 302 IPC .

    The convicts namely 1) Sk Alimuddin S/O- Sk Abdul Jabbar 2) Sanuwara Bibi W/O- Sk Alimuddin both of  Vill- Kishorchak PS – Kolaghat Dist- Purba Medinipur are sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and to pay fine of RS/- 5000/- (Rupees Five thousand) each in default of payment of fine, they are to suffer rigorous imprisonment for a period of Six month, for the offence punishable U/S- 302IPC as they are given high sentence as such no sentence is inflicted on them for the offence punishable U/S- 201/34 IPC.

Team could able to arrest five persons of a gang, who generally snatching money near banks from people just after withdrawal of cash. They were involved in robbery held near Punjab National Bank, Nonakuri Branch, Tamluk on 06.08.2018

    On 30/07/18 about 13:35 hrs received an information that some criminals committed robbery at Mechogram office of Delhivery Pvt Ltd under Panskura PS and robbed RS- 4669606 (Fourty Six lakh Sixty nine thousand Six hundreed Six ) after showigng gun and after reciving the said information Started Panskura PS Case No- 372/18 dated 30/07/18 U/S 394/397 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act.

    Started the investigation of this case under the direct Supervision of SDPO Tamluk, CI Tamluk and assistance of OC Chandipur PS OC Mahisadal, OC CMG Cell verified the information of Complainant and other wittnesses , interrogated the Centre in charge Biswajit Murmu, it reveal that Ujjal Dutta Area Manager Delhivery Pvt Ltd with the assistance of Centre in charge Biswajit Murmu and Ex -employee Sridip Sarkar committed this crime.

    We have arrested all the three involved accused persons 1) Biswajit Murmu 2) Ujjal Dutta 3) Sridip Sarkar and recovered total cash RS – 45,52,940/- and also stolen DVR of CCTV.

  • Educating Fire Awareness is a continuous process!!!

    As a part of it, Bhabanipur police station along with Haldia Fire Station organised a Fire Awareness Programme at Ambuja City Centre Mall Haldia on 07/06/2018. It was a mock drill where all the occupants, staff and Patrons of the Mall took active part of along with Bhabanipur Police Station, Haldia Fire Brigade. During the drill the mall were totally evacuated by the stake holders on an urgent basis with in a stipulated period of time. It was a successful drill and we will organise such activities in recent future also in a bigger manner.

    1) The convict namely Kalu Singh S/O Lt Hardev Sigh Of- Dhanupura PS- Qadarchowk Dist- Budaun State- Uttar Pradesh sentenced to conviction U/S 395 IPC sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 10 years and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 10,000/- i.d to suffer further simple imprisonment for Six months. Conviction U/S 397 of IPC and U/S 35 Arms Act are sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 07 years. Conviction U/S 25(i) (a) Arms Act is also sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 01 year and shall also pay a fine of Rs. 500/- each i.d to suffer further simple imprisonment for one month.

Also seized robbed & used mobile sets in c/w Tamluk PS case no 479/17 dated 27.10.17 u/s 392 IPC.

    Kolaghat PS  Case No 189/14 dt 10/05/14 U/S- 326(A) IPC

    On 14/11/17 Ld Addl. Sessions Judge 3rd Court, Tamluk , Purba Medinipur has been pleased to pass the following judgment in respect of offence-u/s 326 (A) IPC. The convict namely Narayan Santra is sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for 10 years, he is also sentenced to pay a fine of Rs- 20,000/- to the victim.

     

     

  • ONE OF ACHIEVEMENT OF DISTRICT POLICE

    September 21, 2017

    On 20.09.17 night at about 23.45 hrs while one mecheda bound Pick up van bearing Regd No. WB-29A/8600 was proceeding towards Sabang for purchasing chicken then on NH-41 at Kapasarea under PS Mahishadal 4 persons equipped with vojali and lathi intercepted them from opposite direction, riding on two motor bikes. They snatched away total cash of Rs 220000/-, two mobile phones and other documents from the three occupants of that vehicle after assaulting them. In this regards Mahishadal PS C/No.301/17 dt 21.09.17 U/S 394/397 IPC has been started.
    In course of Investigation all accused persons (06) Could have been arrested. Cash of Rs 212000/-, two stolen mobile phones, Two Motor cycles which was used for committing the crime has also been recovered. One vojali , weapon of offence could have been seized.

Persons 1) Bijoy Das, 2) Goutam Das, 3) Somudra Das, 4) Prabir Das, 5) Biswajit Das & 6) Anath Bandu Mondal @ Bhutto are sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life and to pay fine of Rs. 5,000/- (Five thousand) i.d. to suffer R.I. for one year more for the offence punishable under section 302 r/w 34 of the IPC.

    A new initiative has been taken by Shri Alok Rajoria, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur for cleanliness of Police Stations and other units of Purba Medinipur District. The best performers for the year 2016 are (1) Panskura PS, for Tamluk Zone,(2) Nandigram PS for Haldia Zone & (3) Digha PS. For Contai Zone.  They have been rewarded by SP Purba Medinipur. Teams of senior officers are visiting the units and taking notes on overall performance of the units in regular intervals. Our efforts over cleanliness of Police units will be continued for better service to the society under a pleasant atmosphere.

    One of achievement of district police. From detection to investigation to trial to conviction

    On 1.7.15 night while one Sanjay Ponda of Athilaguri, PS Contai along with his brother proceeding Contai from Tarakeswar with Cucumber loaded Truck bearing no. WB 31/7556 then around 01.00 hrs some miscreants restrained them near Narkelda bridge, PS Nandakumar using a Scorpio, assaulted & snatched money, money etc.  Over this complaint Nandakumar PS case no. 299/15 dt. 1.7.15 u/ s 395/397 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered. During investigation five accused persons namely Kaushik Dolai, Syed Nurudduin, Sk Farooque, Sk Sajed & Sk Sahadat were arrested. After completion of trial, on 11.04.2017 Ld ADJ 3rd Court, Tamluk  convicted to all accused for 07 years imprisonment & fine Rs. 5000/- each.

    As a part of Safe Drive Save Life Programme, special drive is going on in Purba Medinipur District against drunken driving. On 13.02.17 during special drive at Kolalghat a team of officers of District Traffic detected one driver viz Sitaram Manna in drunken state by using breath alcohol analyser. He was detained by traffic police, handed over to Kolaght PS where from he was produced in Tamluk court u/s 177/ 185/ 202 MV Act. Shri  Animesh Ghosh Ld. Judicial Magistrate (1st Class) 3rd Court, Tamluk, convicted him to suffer imprisonment for 14(fourteen)days for the offence of driving vehicle in drunken state. The convict is now in Tamluk Sub Correctional Home.

  • Awareness camp on Cyber Safety & online Banking frauds by Cyber Crime PS

    On 16.03.20 afternoon, Cyber Crime police Station of this district staged an awareness session on Cyber Safety and online banking frauds at Subarna Jayanti Hall, Tamluk. The police sensitized residents against falling prey to fraudsters claiming to be agents calling on the behalf of banks, insurance and finance companies. Threats posed by ATM skimmers were also discussed. Representatives of esteemed banks, CID West Bengal and also IT experts and eminent local persons addressed the audience. Ld. Sessions Judge, Purba Medinipur and SP, Purba Medinipur graced the session with their venerable presence.

  • Observed ” 57 th Home Guard Raising Day 2019″

    ” 57 th Home Guard Raising Day 2019″ has been observed on 05.12.2019 at about 10.30 am at Purba Medinipur District Police Lines, Tamluk  by hosting the flag of Home Guard Unit by Addl. SP HQR , Purba Medinipur. All the available Home Guard Personnel including Some Senior Police Personnel were participated in the said programme.At the end the refreshment has been arranged for all the available force including HGs/NVFs/ CVs personnel and the  programme concluded successfully.

  • Health check up Camp organised by Purba Medinipur District Police

    On 23.11.19 a health check up camp was organised by Purba Medinipur District Police at Police Line, Tamluk for the aged of 45 and above Police Personnel of Tamluk Sub-Division and Haldia Sub- Division and other units with the assistance of Medical team of Ruby General Hospital , Kolkata.Total 111 police Personnel attended the camp.

  • Drawing competition on the topic of social concern ‘Prevention of Child Marriage’

    On 07.09.19 a drawing competition on the topic of social concern ‘Prevention of Child Marriage’ was organised at Haldia Govt. Sponsored High School as a part of the Purba Medinipur District Police initiative of the awareness project Unnmesh”, to curb down the grave social issue of sexual harassment of children. OC Durgachawk PS, OC Haldia Women PS, Partha Das of Haldia Energy Limited , Anupam Biswas, HM of Haldia Govt. Sponsored High School and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Four amongst the 150 competing students were awarded for their excellence in drawing and unique concept on the topic. Also, an awareness program on the topic was organized to sentisize the school children about the ways to avoid and combat such crime.

  • Inauguration of Cyber Crime Police Station

    It’s a landmark moment for us to share that on 8.7.2019, Sri Rajeev Mishra, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Western Zone, inaugurated the Cyber Crime Police Station of Purba Medinipur District at Tamluk Police Station premises, in the presence of Sri Sukesh Kumar Jain, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Medinipur Range, and Sri V. Solomon Nesakumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur.

    The Cyber Crime PS of Purba Medinipur District has started functioning from then on, as a historic step towards fulfilling the initiative of the Government of West Bengal to combat cyber crime, effectively in the face of the changing crime pattern .

  • Free eye Care camp on 22nd and 23rd of June 2019

    As a part of the Community Development Programme , Purba Medinipur District Police organised a Free eye Care camp on 22nd and 23rd of June respectively.

    On 22.6.19 Free Eye Screening & Spectacles distribution camp was held at Birbandar Board Primary School under khejuri ps where 107 persons attended and 50 needy persons were given spectacles free of cost.

    On 23.6.29 the Free eye camp was organized at Swarnamoyee Girls School under Egra PS where 173 persons attended out of which 63 persons were given spectacles free of cost.

    Lastly 36 persons from these two PS areas have been identified to undergo Cataract surgery to be done on 27.6.19 at Sankara Nethralaya hospital in Kolkata, absolutely free of cost.

    Today on 7.6.19 a seminar cum Convergence meeting was held at district level and International Day for Missing Children was observed. Representatives of District Legal Service Authority , Missing Person Bureau,Juvenile Justice Board,Child Welfare Committee,Labour Department, School Department, Social Welfare Department, Child Protection Unit etc of Purba Medinipur District attended. SI.Subir Sen of Panskura PS & SI. Dipak Adhikary of Mahishadal PS & LC- Nayantara Maity of DMPB were felicitated for outstanding works in c/w recovery of missing children.

Superintendent of Police & Chairman of WBPWASS Purba Medinipur Sri V.Solomon Nesakumar, IPS felicitated total nine Secondary students and seventeen Higher Secondary students who had scored excellent marks in Madhyamik & Higher Secondary examination in the year 2018.

  • Non-Lethal practice firing held on 08.09.18

    The practical Training on Non-Lethal equipments was been organized by District Police, Purba Medinipur on 08.09.2018 at the premises of URAL India Ltd. under Bhabanipur PS. Firing of Gas Shell, plastic Pallets, Blastic Cartridges, Blank Cartridges, Rubber bullets, electrical smoke shell etc. was being done by use of Gas gun,  Pump action Gun, Anti-Riot Gun, Multi-Shell Launcher, MBL etc. Demonstration of Water cannon and Anti-riot vehicle also been done. 23 Lady Constables, 30 Constables, 24 ASIs, 10 SIs, 01 Inspector, 02 Dy.SPs, and 01 Addl.SP took part in this practical training.

     

     

  • Tamralipta Cup-2018

    on the occasion of celebration of the 72th Independence Day- 2018, District Final tournament in respect of Football & Volleyball has been organized in association with sub divisional sports office, Tamluk at Rakhal Memorial Football Ground (Stadium) in presence of Hon’ble DM, Purba Medinipur, Hon’ble SP, Purba Medinipur and other seniors officers / dignitaries on 15.08.2018 in a befitting manner. That teams who played final tournament, they are:- (i) Kolaghat Academic Sports- Vs- Digha Mohana Coastal PS (Football) (ii) Patashpur Block-I Team- Vs- Contai Block-I Team (Volleyball). In this regard, Kolaghat Academic Sports achieved District Champion Trophy in the name of Tamralipta Football Cup-2018 and Contai Block-I Team also achieved District Champion Trophy in the name of Tamralipta Volleyball Cup-2018. Besides, Women Football Durgachak Milon Sangha attended in the said tournament to collect District Champion Trophy in the name of Tamralipta Football Cup- 2018.

From same stage Beat System was inaugurated by Hon”ble MIC Transport Dept., Govt. of WB  & SP, Purba Medinipur for better Policing and cycles were distributed among CVs who have been engaged in Beat System.

    Purba Medinipur District Subsidiary Police Canteen has been inaugurated / opened by Shri Alok Rajoria, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur on 26.12.2017 at Tamluk Police Lines Headquarter in presence of senior’s officer as well as available police personnel of this district. In this regard, Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur delivered his valuable speech about the salient features of the said canteen and its utility for the police personnel.

  • Football Distribution Programme

    Throughout the district of Purba Medinipur, colourful programmes, Rally with Tableau organised by district police for promotion of the game of Football ,FIFA U-17 world Cup , football distribution programme to clubs, organisation, schools, madrasa, Police Line by Government of West Bengal. SP purba medinipur Shri Alok Rajoria, IPS inaugurated the programme at Tamluk PS compound. Other programmes were attended by Addl SPs,SDPOs and other Dignitaries. Total 7700 footballs, designed by Hon’ble CM, WB will be distributed from 10 venues on coming 9th and 10th October .

  • Five days in service training and workshop for SIs & ASIs

    May 9, 2017

    To equip SIs/ASIs with right tools in investigation of cases particularly those who are newly promoted, a 5 day’s work-shop was organized at Tamluk. Besides lectures from senior experience police officers and experts as to various aspects of investigation, they were given a live case and were asked to investigate and submit charge sheet. All officers found the approached very useful. On addition to this, they were given contents on riot drill, yoga and sports. 05 days long training outside police station gave them opportunity to interact with senior officers and and also amongst themselves. This surely spruced up their morale and made them confident as to their job.

    Designated CI, SDPO, Addl. SP are taking class over specific subject. Experts from other department & social workers are also attending the training programme on invitation. Audio-visual demonstration, subject wise analysis, questionnaire have been incorporated in the curriculum.

    14th District Police Sports Meet 2016 of Purba Medinipur District Police was held on 3rd & 4th December 2016 at Rakhal Memorial Stadium Tamluk. About 305 Participants took part in 49 events and total 210 Persons in eleven teams participated in March Past. Hon’ble Transport Minister, Govt. of West Bengal /Sovhadipati of Zila Parishad Purba Medinipur/ Chairman of Tamroliptta Municipality/ IGP Western Zone/ DIG (MR)/D.M. Purba Medinipur and other dignitaries were present as guest in Annual District Police Sports Meet 2016.
